Back to the Bahrain International Circuit
Formula-1 is back, today we have it again! Starting the season in Bahrain on March 2021. The Bahrain International Circuit is a motorsport venue opened in 2004 and used for drag racing as well.
Last year's Race in Bahrain
Last race in Bahrain, there was huge crash on the turn 3, just during the first lap, when Romain Grosjean hit strongly the barriers, his car broke in half and it exploded in flames, fire everywhere. Luckily the Halo helped him a lot and we are thankful that at the end, he was saved.
Hamilton won, leading from the start to the end, we had Verstappen in 2nd, running strong against the British driver, but he was unable to win the battle, Alex Albon finished in 3rd, having the two Red Bulls in the Podium, something that didn't happen since Japan 2017. Too bad for Sergio Peréz, who was running in 3rd, when had his engine blown!
Lando Norris in 4th, and Carlos Sainz in 5th.
Pierre Gasly finished in 6th, Riccardo in 7th, just ahead of Valtteri Bottas in 8th, who had a difficult race, the other Renault driver, Esteban Ocon finished in 9th and completing the top 10, Charles Leclerc.
Max Verstappen got the fastest lap of the race, getting the extra 1 point (fastest lap award 2020).
What to expect from Bahrain GP 2021?
It is the first race of the Season, we are going to have Max Verstappen in the Pole, it is only his 4th Pole of his career and it is exciting to see a different car, rather than Mercedes to start in the 1st position of the grid.
Lewis Hamilton is going to start in second, just ahead of his teammate Valtteri Bottas, who has at his back starting in fourth, Charles Leclerc with a great performance of his Ferrari, it seems that the Scuderia did a great work and the car will be a competitive one for this race.
Pierre Gasly will start in fifth, ahead of Daniel Riccardo in sixth, Lando Norris the McLaren teammate will start in seventh, just ahead of his ex-teammate Carlos Sainz in eighth, who is running for Ferrari now.
Fernando Alonso back to F1 with Alpine team, renamed after Renault, will start in ninth, ahead of the Aston Martin car from Lance Stroll, the renamed team after Racing Point.
A lot of new teams, and three new rookies as well, Yuki Tsunoda of Alpha Tauri, and the two drivers from Haas, Nikita Mazepin and Mick Schumacher, the son of the famous Michael Schumacher, bringing back the unforgettable family name of Schumacher.
